Petrino Family Foundation to have first viewing of namesake trauma roomBobby Petrino

Louisville, Kentucky (April 20, 2015) – The Petrino Family Foundation, established by UofL Football Coach Bobby Petrino, made its largest gift in 2014 to name a room as part of the Kosair Children’s Hospital Trauma Program.

The Petrino family and members of the foundation’s board will see the completed room for the first time, learning about how their gift will help save the lives of the numerous children who need care at Kosair Children’s Hospital every year.

More than 60,000 children a year need emergency care at the children’s hospital. As the region’s only level 1 pediatric trauma center, more than 1,000 children are treated for complex injuries such as accidental and non-accidental blunt abdominal trauma; penetrating injuries, like gunshot wounds, crush injuries and musculoskeletal and spine injuries; closed head and traumatic brain injuries; and injuries due to child abuse.
